Heat transfer to proximal cylinders in hypersonic flow

چکیده
Uncontrolled atmospheric entry of meteors, satellites, and spacecraft components often leads to their partial or complete demise. In this destructive process, driven by hypersonic ablation, reentry objects fragment, interact, alter each other's aerothermal environment. The effect these interactions on the heat transfer fragments has not been investigated, despite transfer's importance in ablation This study focuses numerical investigation proximal circular cylinders a thermochemically frozen flow two dimensions. First, binary body configurations at Mach numbers 2, 4, 8 revealed that load peak can be augmented for either both bodies +20% ?90% an isolated body. Second, different clusters five showed any given range from +40% Moreover, average cluster is found vary between ?60% Intuitively, which are thin direction perpendicular free-stream velocity long parallel have cluster-averaged reduced. contrast, thick clusters, directions velocity, subject increased load.

fluctuating flow characteristics and heat transfer from two in-tandem square cylinders
in this paper, the flow around bluff bodies with different cross sections and determination of forces acts on them are investigated.this paper presents the results of a numerical study on the flow characteristics and heat transfer over two equal square cylinders in a tandem arrangement. spacing between the cylinders is 5 widths of the cylinder and the reynolds number ranges from 1 to 200, pr=0....
متن کاملForced Convection: Heat Transfer from Copper Cylinders to Air
Three copper cylinders of diameter 1/4”, 3/8” and1/2” were heated and then immersed in an air stream flowing through a cylindrical pipe. The temperature change of the cylinders with respect to time was measured at different air flow rates. With this data, the Nusselt, Reynolds and Prandtl numbers were calculated and correlated. This correlation was compared to ones established by Sherwood-Pigfo...
متن کاملUsing Burnett Equations to Derive an Analytical Solution to Pressure-Driven Gas Flow and Heat Transfer in Micro-Couette Flow
The aim of the present study is deriving an analytical solution to incompressible thermal flow in a micro-Couette geometry in the presence of a pressure gradient using Burnett equations with first- and second-order slip boundary conditions. The lower plate of the micro-Couette structure is stationary, whereas the upper plate moves at a constant velocity. Non-dimensional axial velocity and tempe...
متن کاملFlow Analysis Heat and Mass Transfer in a Room
This reports the study on the flow behaviour, heat transfer and contamination distribution in a room. For this purpose the 3-D incompressible Navier-Stokes equations, energy equation and a mass transfer equation which model the concentration of contamination have been applied. For turbulence simulation the two equation standard k- turbulence model was employed. By means of SIMPLE algorithm the...
